sandcastles & pinky promise

“I was always hungry for love. Just once, I wanted to know what it was like to get my fill of it -- to be fed so much love I couldn't take any more. Just once. ”

― Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

 we think we want

what we can't have easily

believe it'll be worth the wait

to feel something magic

it's a beautiful fairytale,

a story we're told as children

imagination glorifies the chase

builds sandcastles of golden dust

that evaporate with true love's touch

the red that ties us

binds our beating hearts

has stretched now

to the breaking point

life's path has split in two

and is only seen betwixt

lonesome shadows of a blue moon

hold me, shake me, wake me up

or we won't meet

until the string unravels

our fate
